Other structures

This ruin must have been built after 1875, since the turf in the walls contains tephra from that year.

Three finds were recovered from the ruin. A glass lid, a piece of a ceramic coffee cup and a part of a saw. The saw had a copper stamp with the inscription ‘Warranted Superior’ meaning the manufacturer guaranteed the best quality to his customers.

It is likely that this house went under in the 1885 avalanche, meaning it was only used for ten years at the most.

A small medieval building was beneath the 19th century farm mound. Tephra from 1477 lay over the remains, meaning it fell out of use before that date.

A lot of organic remains were found in the floor of the structure. Its use is not yet clear but it may have been a animal house.
